Disovankiri (Kiri) has spent 7 years studying abroad in Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. He holds an MA in Applied Economics from The George Washington University (USA) and BBA in Economics and Innovations from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan) with one-year study abroad experience in University of Hertfordshire (UK).
Kiri is an active researcher, educator and consultant. His independent economics research focuses on foreign direct investment, multidimensional poverty measures and international business strategy. He worked as Research Assistant at the George Washington University where he was attained by the book author to proofread and revise Development Economics textbook before its 13th edition publication. He also interned at the World Bank Group where he supported the maintenance of Stata Visual library, reproduced results of a working paper, and performed analysis on raw data to understand impact of COVID-19 crisis on Cambodian Public Servants. He also provided double-blind peer review service for Journal of Asian Business and Economy.
Besides research, Kiri has been TA-ing for more than 10 undergraduate and graduate business and economic courses; both in Japan and USA. He mentored students, prepared teaching materials, graded essays and exams, and occasionally taught his own classes. At George Washington University, he taught Introductory Stata Workshop, Interactive Data Visualization using R-Shiny, and Advanced PowerPoint Visualizations to undergraduate and graduate students.
Kiri also provided consulting services to undergraduate students, masters, PhD students, and professors at the George Washington University in basic statistics, quantitative research methodologies, econometrics estimations and interpretations. He also offered technical consultations in data analysis and wrangling using Stata, R, SPSS and Excel, etc.
At present, he works as Research Analyst at Coherent Economics; a boutique economic and ligation consulting firm in Chicago, Illinois. At CSAUSA, Kiri hopes to offer a platform where Cambodian students can connect, exchange information and learn from each other.
